A kittypet named Swirls had met Tearpelt a long time ago but have gone their seperate ways. Now Teapelt is leader of Snowclan but could not stop thinking of Swirls so she set out to find him. Along the way she met Frostfoot from Mountainclan.
Swirls couldn't stop thiking about Tearstar himslef and set out to look for her. His friends hyper Rummy, worrier Sandy, and serious Cinder have gone with him in search for an adventure.
Frostfoot's leader is dieing of greencough and Frostfoot's deputy Doveface is having a hard time coping ever since their former deputy Dragonleaf had left the clan for his own ambitious reasons. Now he has teamed up with stormheart and planned something evil! what could it be?
The paths of two different groups of cats have met, now they must make it back to their camps, which clans will all the cats go to? And before this journey ends, death will fall upon one clan so heavy it will make many wonder how they will survive.
